While there are technically 40 pages, (each for a corresponding principle) a 5 minute read is hardly what I was expecting. Thought there might be some intellectual tools to be had. But alas, with complex ideas such as, use a dictionary, or write down ideas, this just may have lowered my intellect. The book is basically a list of skills that can help you improve your thought process. It may be what geniuses do, but it is also what any intelligent person can do. If you looking for insight into how geniuses think, I don't believe this give a full picture.
I already knew about 90% of the material ideas in the toolkit and I think most people with a reasonable amount of common sense would. That's the key, common sense, the ability to use the critical thinking skills they don't teach kids in school anymore. It was however a good read, and fast. IT resonates and reaffirms many ideas that are floating in the back of so many peoples minds. It's a great reminder of what we need to remember we know. Make sense.
The book highlights some commonly known / understood facts about life and success. As the title implies, I would have been happy to read more "genius" pointers, especially from genius minds.
Every first year teacher has greater knowledge about learning then what you will find in this book. Do not waste your time. There are much better, thoroughly researched books on the brain and how we learn. Use your time to investigate them.
The book has 40 short sections, but between them are several repetitious entries and overlaps... how many ways can you say the same thing? A lot it seems.
Think of this book not as a finely crafted German toolkit, ready to hand down like an heirloom through the generations, but instead more like that budget multi tool you got because it seems too good to be true, so many attachments, so low cost.... but just like that tool, this book quickly blunts itself, and almost none of the included extras actually fit your needs.
It was a lousy read. Nice points but nothing new really. Would have been better as a blog post instead of a book
It's a stupid rip-off.
The title is a lie. There is no toolkit given, just some general advice--brilliant things like "record your thoughts." It is a pamphlet, not a book, and I am angry at for allowing it to be sold as a book. It was a TOTAL waste of 3 dollars of my money and of 15 minutes of my time.
